PREPARING THE STRAPS Lay the strap pieces on top of each other, right sides together. Sew the long raw edges. Finish the raw edges. Turn the straps right sides out. Topstitch the seams. |
ADDING THE STRAPS Use the side seams as a strap marker. Place the strap on the inside of the lining. Pin the short raw edges to the side seams. |
Turn the main shell right sides out and tuck it into the lining shell with right sides together. This will sandwich the strap between the main and lining pieces. |
Sew the circle of the top raw edge leaving a 4" opening to turn the bag right side out. Finish the raw edges. |
•Turn the bag right sides out through the opening in the lining.
•Stitch the opening closed to finish the bag.
Designer tip: topstitch the seam where the straps are attached to add extra stability.
